An historic building transformed into prestigous residence with an italian garden near Todi

 Only 7 kms from this splendid medieval town, lies this castle, built around 1000. the structure has remained the original : high and strong stone walls, brick-built arches, wide stone fireplaces, beautiful italian gardens, fountains and gardens. the position offers a wide and open view on the Umbian Valey, from the river Tiber to Todi.

The castle disposes on four levels, linked among them by staircase and lift. Ground floor: large kitchen and dining room with brick vaults, majestic Tuscan fire-place and old table suitable for up to 14 diners. from the corridor of the kitchen, a lift gives easy acces to the upper floors and a door opens into a large paved terrace.

Sheltered by a gazebo in the warm months and furnis-hed with tables and garden, the terrace offers a faboulos corner to eat outside enjoying a superb view on the river Tiber through a road with cypress trees.

On the first floor, the living room is embellished by a gilt mirror and Baroque console in front of a magnificent Flemish tapestry. Comfortable sofas and chairs are placed in front of a large stone fireplace. A double arch with a column separates this space from the main entrance with its furniture dating back to XVI-XVII Century and with oil portraits. Still on the first floor there is a bedroom with bathroom.

A stone spiral staircase connects to the corridor on the second floor. Here the faux marble decorations and the coat of arms of an aristocratic family are the backdrop to the furniture. the common room on th second floor is a cozy library. This room has double height, with a wooden gallery accessible by a narrow staircase. Old and rare books fill the shelves. The library has a stone fire place. Third floor (tower) : a bedrooms, all with en suite bathromm and restroom. Next to the Castle lie a cottage composed of: bedroom, kitchen with living room and bathroom. Near the depandance there is also an annex currently used to store tools, but even convertible into living area. The land that surrounds the property measures 2 hectares in all and comprises an olive grove, a beautiful italian garden and swimming poo. This property, thanks to its historical importance, is protected under the law ruling the italian Cultural and Artistic Heritage.
